Open Question: Should I bulk up or slim down for football?

I am 12, almost going to be 13. I love football and last season I played RB and MLB for 5 out of the 6 games. The first game I played OLB and RB. I am 5′5″ and 110-120 lbs. While I was at one of my track meets I saw my coach and we had a little conversation and I asked, “What position do you think I will next season?” He said I will be MLB for the rest of my life (I know he was just giving me confidence) But I do know I am a good MLB. Here’s the dilemma, I slimmed down a little and got faster. I don’t know if I can play MLB again this season considering there will be more players and I might not be big enough (weight and strength). Last season I was a more-so fullback type RB. I think I will be a better RB but not as good MLB.
So here is the question, do you think I should bulk up for MLB or slim down a little more for RB? I just want some of your opinions.
PS- Please don’t say, “you are to young to be worrying about this stuff” I love football and I want to play in the future in serious leagues.
Thanks! ![]()
