Open Question: Can taking protein supplements with your workout decrease fat burning productivity?

If you are working out with a heavy emphasis on cardio and then the second half of your workout weight training to gain muscle mass…can taking products like and specifically Muscle Milk decrease your fat burning productivity? Can it help? The product I have is 220 calories 80 from fat, 9g fat and 25g protein. I want to trim down but also improve my arms and chest. What advice do you have on this product specifically or other products like it. My main goal is slimming my midsection; however, who doesn’t want the best of both worlds. (I don’t have that much to lose). Please help!
